the Challenge

Lexus RES+ is a mobile app that elevates the Lexus driving experience by providing owners the ability to access their vehicle settings remotely. Owners can check their vehicle status, turn on the engine, lock/unlock doors, and locate their vehicles at the touch of a button. As the very first project for Fujitsu Ten’s newly minted UX Group, I was tasked with designing the app to visually evoke a textured and classic feeling, based on the functional specifications provided by engineers. I aimed to deliver a look that that exemplified the new paradigms of the brand - “Impressive, Elegant, and Lasting.” The app launched in November 2012 and is available for download on both the Apple and Google Play stores.

After the launch of the application, I was also tasked with executing new visual designs for other automotive brands based on the same functional specs.
